Scholarship fund re-named to honor long time luminary of Great Waters.

Did you know Great Waters offers scholarships to Lakes Region students who study music at the college level or participate in accredited music programs? Great Waters has been conferring these scholarships since 2002. Austin Beveridge, who grew up in the Lakes Region and now plays in the band “Copilot” received a scholarship from Great Waters in 2013. It was an honor to enjoy Austin and the band Copilot perform in the Great Waters venue at Castle in the Clouds last August as part of a Folk Festival.

Long time Great Waters patrons and supporters were delighted last summer when Board Chair Barbara Olcott announced from the stage that the program was re-named the Barbara and David Lobdell Scholarship Fund in honor of a couple who have served the organization in a variety of roles over the past twenty five years. Barbara Lobdell, pictured above, is a Board Member Emerita and remains active with Great Waters.

A special Thank You to supporters of Great Waters who help make these scholarships possible. We are appreciative for long time benefactor of the Scholarship program – The Nancy Peery Marriott Foundation.

Applications to apply for the scholarship are open! Please visit the Community Page on the Great Waters website for scholarship and application information. Please encourage any and all Lakes Region music student in your network to apply. Of course don’t ever hesitate to call the office at (603) 569-7710 or email us at info@GreatWaters.org if you have further questions.

Check back here to the Great Waters website for more information about an outstanding opportunity for music students to attend a Master Class this summer with Georgia Stitt. Great Waters is excited to expand our scholarships and music education programs.
