With heavy hearts we share the passing of Great Waters founder, Dr. Gerry Mack. Dr. Mack passed peacefully with family at his side in Wolfeboro the morning of August 3rd.
Dr. Mack is an inspiration and beacon for all that Great Waters means to patrons, friends and supporters. A true artist, innovator and creator – Gerry Mack has always been woven into the fabric of Great Waters. He remained active with the Great Waters Board of Directors and continued to attend concerts through the 2021 Season.
Dr. Mack’s achievements in Chorale music are breathtaking. He was the Conductor of the Worcester Chorus in Massachusetts, Professor Emeritus at the Hartt School of Music at University of Hartford, CT., Executive Director at the Nantucket Community Music Center and of course Founder and leader of the Great Waters Music Festival. Dr. Mack delighted thousands conducting performances with the Great Waters Festival Chorus and Orchestra.
Dr. Mack is survived by his spouse Nancy who is on the Great Waters Board of Directors and their children Heather, Todd & Robin. With sincere and abundant love, the Great Waters Family mourns the loss of Dr. Gerry Mack.
